Thousands of developers are building on the Blockscout Pro API. This month, we go in depth with one of them: Keeper, the wallet formerly known as Tonkeeper. In our interview, we cover how they use the API, how they optimized response times, and how it powers their in-app features.

Keeper uses the Pro API for blockchain data across Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base, and links out to the Blockscout explorer for transaction details. Tonkeeper spent years as the leading self-custody wallet on TON before its rebrand earlier this year.

This is the first in a series of posts highlighting the projects and developers building with the Pro API. Upcoming case studies will include technical details showing how the community is using the API in new ways across hundreds of chains.

The Pro API includes a free tier on most chains, with 5 requests per second and 100K credits per day. It starts as soon as you generate a key at dev.blockscout.com.

“Pro” stands for production-ready, professional-grade data. Features include higher rate limits than competing services, real-time usage dashboards, and up to 50 API keys per account.

Adoption keeps growing. Signups took off in September, and daily new signups are now at their highest level this year.

Chain access:

  • Paid plan required: Base, Polygon, and zkSync

  • No paid plan required: Robinhood Chain, Arc, and 100+ more.

If you are a builder using our Pro API, we'd love to hear more! Drop us a note and let us know how you're using it.

🗞️ Blockscout News in Brief

🚀 v12 rolling out, testnets first

Blockscout v12.0.0 is rolling out to hosted instances, and testnets are first. Standout additions and optimizations:

  • ERC-8056 token type support

  • Sourcify integration migrated from API v1 to v2

  • Log input decoding in ABI-like format for transactions

  • New api/v2/tokens/batch endpoint

  • CSV export of token transfers from a token page

v12 also includes breaking changes for API integrators, including a change to how items_count works in pagination and the removal of all /api/v2/mud/* endpoints. Look for a deeper dive into the update in an upcoming blog post.

🛠️ Craftora's Pro API Buildathon is live

The Craftora hackathon is now underway, and sprint 1 runs Oct 8 to 24. Projects need to use the Blockscout Pro API at their core. Registration is still open, and builder compete for a 1,200 USDC credits pool, mentorship from the Blockscout team, and certificates and winner badges!
